Pregnancy Photographer, London, Bermondsey session
A beautiful pregnancy photoshoot with this lovely mother-to-be. Waiting for your first baby to arrive is an incredibly special time. It’s wonderful to celebrate your pregnancy and create a lasting memory for both of you to look back on.
I found this beautiful ‘letter to my first child’ on Scary Mommy
It sums up so many of those familiar feelings. The trials and errors of becoming a Mum for the first time. How your life changes and how you change. It is one of life’s greatest journey’s.
I am writing this whilst preparing my two children for the day. The eldest is going on a school trip today and there is much excitement as we pack her lunch, wellies and spare clothes. My youngest will come with me, a quick morning play with mummy before Daddy takes him out for the day. I have two photoshoots today. A pregnancy and a family session.
It is unusual for me to book two in one day but they are close by and I had the sweetest call from this lady who is actually due today! She left her pregnancy portraits to the very last minute! I’m delighted we could make it work and capture her bump just before her baby arrives. I’m keeping my fingers crossed baby stays put just long enough for our photoshoot!
Have a lovely day x

Just a quick post to say how much I enjoyed watching ‘Born in Chelsea’ this week on E4. Following Binky & JP’s journey into parenthood.
I was delighted to do a special pregnancy photography session with Binky just a couple of weeks before her beautiful baby girl arrived. It was wonderful to work with Binky and the production team who filmed our photoshoot that day.
I love my pregnancy sessions. Those precious weeks before you become a mother for the first time are incredibly special. The anticipation of meeting your little one for the first time after months of waiting and the nervousness about becoming a mother are quite overwhelming. I remember those feelings so well.
It is important for me to be able to relate to my Clients and understand how they would like their pregnancy to be captured. These pictures will become a treasured record of this very personal, emotional & life changing journey. I like to capture the beauty of pregnancy, I believe that all mothers to be are radiant at this time.
I love black & white photography for maternity shoots. This classic form of photography gives an elegant and timeless quality to the finished pictures.
Binky looked absolutely stunning and our session was relaxed & fun. I always work with my Clients to produce natural & intimate portraits that are flattering and true to them.
I’ll be sharing more pictures form this and recent sessions soon.
Thank you so much for looking, I’m always grateful for your feedback and support,
Elle x

Sometimes I wonder where the time goes!
The weeks have been speeding by and suddenly the school Summer holidays are upon us. Those endless childhood days stretched out in front of us. Bringing back so many fond memories of that beautiful feeling that Summer goes on for ever. The next term seeming an age away. I love having my children at home for the Summer. We plan a few trips together but I like to make sure they have some time at home to just be, play and explore. It is beautiful to enjoy those endless summer days in the garden at home, just playing and being together as a family.
As this lovely time of year is fast approaching I have also been super busy, photographing and meeting lots of incredible mothers to be, newborn’s, baby’s and families. So much so that I have had very little time to update my website and blog.
I have so many pictures from recent photoshoots I want to share with you all.
This one in particular was a lovely gift newborn photography session. Given from a sister to her brother after the birth of his first child. The whole family took part in our photoshoot. Grandparents and the very proud Aunty herself. It really was a time for celebration and an honour for me to capture this special time.
There is no better feeling in the world than meeting your baby for the first time. I love to think of these portraits being treasured by the family for years to come.
Kind words from the family and pictures as always shared with permission:
” Elle did an amazing job and was very patient with our baby throughout the process. Her vast experience in handling babies and taking exceptional snaps was very clear to see. We would definitely use her again. Keep up the great work Elle!”

Sharing a few from this lovely newborn session in South London.
I love including personal items in my newborn pictures and was delighted to use this beautiful wedding veil. Such a special and delicate item to use. It’s lovely to link their wedding day to their newborn baby pictures. I imagine this veil will be passed on to this darling little girl and loved dearly.
Capturing the little details like the tiny and perfect little feet inside Mums heart shaped fingers. The size of their tiny little hand on top of Daddy & Mummy’s hand create a lasting and precious memory of this fleeting time. It’s incredible to see how she is only a tiny bit bigger than her Daddy’s hand curled up next to it in this shot.
I still can’t believe how quickly this time passes. My two children are now 6 and 2 years old. I try to hold onto every memory, every moment, each sweet little change and the happiness the sound of their voices brings to my day. I like to capture these precious moments for my Clients. Whether I am photographing their pregnancy, newborn, baby or family portraits with older children. My aim is to cerate a lasting memory of that time in their lives. Capturing their expressions naturally with elegant portraits that will last a lifetime.
I take time during all of my sessions to ensure these moments are captured perfectly. After each session I prepare a private proof gallery and each selected image is carefully retouched. Providing high quality professional images is always my top priority. I am very sensitive to my Clients needs and requests. I work with them continuously to ensure their finished images and products match all their needs. These pictures are going to be in their families for generations to come and it’s important to get it right.
Working with families across London I always enjoy chatting about local parent and baby groups. It’s great to exchange tips and ideas. One of my favourites is still netmums. Covering a whole range of London boroughs and full of tips for baby groups to go to which are great for meeting other new parents.
Becoming a parent can be quite a challenge and having the support of other parents local to you is wonderful. Especially in a big city like London.
I hope you enjoy these beautiful newborn portraits. It is a pleasure to share them. As always shared with permission.

In a rare quiet moment between photoshoots today I thought I’d quickly share a few pictures from this beautiful Pregnancy and Newborn Photography Session Clapham.
Some weeks my feet don’t seem to touch the ground but those are my favourite weeks! It has been glorious this week as I have returned to many of my pregnancy photoshoot clients for their newborn sessions. Being one of the first to meet their new arrival is definitely one of the perks of the job!
It’s a thrill to capture the beauty of pregnancy and then meet the little person who was curled up inside the bump. Celebrating new life in this way is an incredible joy.
I think these pictures create a lasting memory of a very special time. There is something so effortlessly elegant about black & white maternity portraits. This mamma to be looked absolutely stunning. I am sure these pictures will be kept in the family for generations.
I was talking to one of my Client’s recently on a photoshoot about the importance of taking time to capture these moments with professional photographs. In a time when we are saturated with i-phone images and selfies it is important to have photographs that will be valued, printed, put into albums and framed rather than disappear into Facebook. I am so glad that people feel as passionately about photography as I do. My family albums are my most treasured possessions. I feel it is important to give my children the same. Beautiful albums full of pictures of important moments in our lives.
The newborn photographs from this session always make me smile. This little man was not sleepy at all. So we captured many of him awake. The middle shot is my favourite. I bundled him up in a swaddle to keep his little arms still for a moment. He has the sweetest little round face. You can see him just gently peeling it away with his tiny hands.
As always shared with permission….

West London Newborn Photographer
This was a lovely newborn photography session in West London. After photographing their first child two years ago at only two weeks old. I couldn’t wait to return and meet his new baby brother. He was just as beautiful and I love the results of this session.
I’m delighted to share a few of my favourites from our photoshoot.
The first is a perfect little tummy pose from this gorgeous newborn baby boy. Just look at his little folded arms. This is a classic newborn baby portrait. I can imagine it being treasured for years to come by all the family.
It can be challenging getting a toddler close enough to kiss a newborn safely. This little one was a dream though! He couldn’t wait to kiss his new baby brother. Just at the moment he leaned in for the kiss the baby had a quick peak to see what going on. I loved capturing this sweet moment.
The next shot I’ve chosen is the “tiger in the woods”. I took the same photograph of his older brother at two weeks old. They will look amazing next to each other in a frame.
The final picture I’ve chosen is this beautiful mother & baby portrait. I often take shots whilst parents are soothing and settling their babies. It was towards the end of our session and the baby was becoming a little unsettled. I took this just as she was shhhing and settling him. It just seemed so natural and captured the moment perfectly.
As a mother I find pictures of me with my children are rare and even more so as they grow up. These tender moments should be captured and treasured. Your little ones will thank you for it and hold them dear.
With special thanks to my Client for permission to share these special moments.

Newborn Photographer South West London
This sweet little newborn was photographed at just two weeks new. I love the shot I took with the beautiful handmade blanket, made by her great Grandma. It was lovely to capture something so personal for the family. With her little fingers gently resting by her face.

For this next portrait I used a soft handmade bonnet and wrap from my collection of handmade newborn props. These are always firm favourites with my Clients. The beautiful cobweb affect of this wrap is stunning. It’s very fragile and delicate. This little one was such a dream to photograph.
I always photograph the little details like the hands and feet. One of my favourite ways to capture perfect toes is cupped in their parents hands. Like a little clam. For this one I used Daddy’s hand on top and mummy’s underneath.
There is nothing quite like the memory of your newborn baby grasping onto one of your fingers. Their ting fingers wrapped around one of yours. Possibly the best feeling in the world. Definitely one that you never forget and it is so lovely to create a lasting memory of this.
It is hard to resist a double pom pom hat! This is another favourite with my Clients. It’s just so gorgeous in this adorable folded arm position.

Choosing the perfect time for your newborn session
I like to take the lead of the new parents on this one. My guide is to book your newborn portrait session before your baby is born. This is so that a time period around your due date can be reserved. It ensure that I can fit you in within the first 1 – 3 weeks following the birth. This is the ideal time for newborn portraits. It is when your baby is still sleepy and we can achieve these beautiful newborn poses.
The reason I say I like to take the parents lead is because this is simply my guide. Births are unpredictable and sometimes there is a little more recovery time needed. I always listen to my Clients and work with their needs.

Pregnancy Photography Session, Notting Hill, London
Another lovely pregnancy photoshoot in Notting Hill, one of my favourite pockets of london!
This session was such a pleasure to do with this beautiful mother to be and her husband. Excitedly preparing for the arrival of their first baby. We had a very relaxed afternoon at their home in Notting Hill. I love taking my pregnancy photography studio to my Clients homes. The studio can easily adapt to any space. I am very used to working in London homes of all shapes and sizes. The results are always professional, studio quality portraits. Taken in the comfort of your own home.
A photoshoot at home in my opinion is the setting is perfect for pregnancy photography. It is completely private. Allowing my Clients to relax and enjoy their photoshoot. With no time pressures or limitations. I am very open to ideas and like to incorporate all portraits they would like to achieve. Often reviewing and discussing ideas before and during the session. I also bring plenty of fabrics with me which work well in black & White.
I love getting to know my Clients and we often end up laughing a lot. It’s great when these moments are captured on camera. The in-between moments that are natural. These always stand out to me.
I love the sheer joy on their faces in their couple portrait. The smile I captured in her silk fabric portrait. These are pictures tell a beautiful story of their journey through pregnancy together.
Client Comments:
” Thank you so very much for the wonderful pictures! It was lovely doing this photoshoot with you. Such a wonderful time in my life and I’m so happy to have had it photographed by you. I will definitely be in touch for a Mommy/baby shoot!”

Newborn Twin Photography Session London
Before I leave for my Sunday pregnancy photoshoot I had to just share these two little beauties. Photographed at a recent newborn twin photography session near Tower Bridge, London.
Two peas in a pod. The perfect shot for a lovely lazy Sunday afternoon! I hope you are all enjoying yours. The sun has been in and out today and it’s been the ideal weather for the London Marathon. I’ve been thinking of all the runners today. We usually try to make it down to Greenwich for our two children to high five the runners. Unfortunately this year with our schedule of photoshoots it’s just not been possible. We’ve had our own mini marathon in the garden though. My two love to have races up and down whilst we time them. Obstacle courses are another firm favourite! A great way to wear them out before bedtime!
I wonder if these two will ever run in the London marathon or perhaps the Olympics?! I wonder what their path will be. They look so perfect wrapped up in this little pod and it was a wonderful newborn session.
I love newborn twin photography sessions. It is incredible to photograph two tiny babies together and an honour to be one of the first to meet them. They were both as dreamy as they look in this picture.
Twin sessions do take longer than single newborn sessions. I recommend booking as far in advance as possible (after your 20 week scan) so that the photoshoot can be planned. Please contact me for details.
I’m looking forward to returning in a few months for their 6 month session. It will be amazing to document them as they grow! Watch this space for their next session pictures to see the changes. I will do a gallery at the end of their first year to show the transition. I have a great ‘watch me grow’ programme. Drop me an email or fill in your details on the booking page for details.
