Pregnancy Photography in Crofton Park
I’ve just finished a beautiful pregnancy photography session with my sister in Crofton Park, South East London.
I’m thrilled with the results, I wanted to capture her calmness in my portraits with soft lighting and subtle poses. We had a lovely afternoon together and once I’d photographed her on her own we had fun trying to persuade my 4 year old nephew to cooperate and have some portraits taken with mummy and daddy – he found the whole experience very amusing and we’ve got some lively shots of the three of them that reflects their wonderful energy as a family.

Pop to Pregnancy
In a new series of Picturing Britian Adil Ray examines the country through the lens of it’s most distinctive photographers. In this second programme Adil meets Andy Fallon, a music photographer whose gritty, authentic style enlivens Britain’s music magazines and newspapers. As he shoots the indie band Wild Beasts, Adil gets a glimpse into the artistry and gaffa tape behind the taking of iconic music photographs.
His wife Elle was also a music photographer, but she has left behind the mud of Glastonbury and crush of concerts, to take classic, black and white portraits of bumps and babies. Adil hears how women, four weeks before their birth, no longer hide in tent shaped clothes but celebrate the beauty of their changing bodies.
Pregnancy & newborn photography, Camberwell London
Hi All,
September and October have been busy months, I’ve been working on pregnancy & newborn baby photography sessions with so many beautiful families – I love photographing the before & after and it’s wonderful to get to know so many of you so well during this special time.
I’ve also been working on a selection to share with you in my blog and twitter pics, it’s wonderful revisiting the shoots each one is so different and unique – unfortunately I can’t always share my portrait session immediately as I like to wait for the families to view their pictures and always ask permission before I share these publicly.
I’ve just finished a fantastic pregnancy photo shoot in Camberwell, South East London with Emma – she called me last minute after hearing my BBC Radio 4 programme to see if I could fit her in. We managed to find some time for a pregnancy photo shoot on her due date and her waters broke 45 minutes after I left!! Such wonderful news and I’m going back next week to photograph her baby daughter. It’s moments like that that make me love my profession even more!

NCT Pop Up Photography Party
I love taking portraits and freezing moments in time, the beauty of black& white photography is creating an image which stands the test of time. The relaxed atmosphere of my nct group tea parties (www.nct.org.uk), allows everyone time to get together and enjoy the afternoon while I set up my studio to take classic and fun portraits.
For me as a parent the first year of my daughters life was such an incredible journey and being able to share this with a group of people going through exactly the same was the most amazing experience. I’m very lucky to have met a wonderful group of women through my pregnancy yoga class with Lisa Green (www.brockleyyoga.com) at the Sun Flower centre in Brockley and their friendship has been and continues to be invaluable. Thank you girls!
These shots are from a recent nct party which was to celebrate reaching the end of the first year – for the parents! At the end of the session I carefully photographed each baby individually and later merged the shot into one group shot which made a fantastic memento of the day and year!
