Sometimes the hardest part is editing the shots,especially when you are photographing a little Shirley Temple and her newborn baby sister!
These pictures from a Baby, Newborn & Family Photography session in Camberwell are just so delightful, I’m thrilled with the results. It’s not often that I hear the words from a toddler ‘take my picture!’ but this little girl was a natural in front of the camera and very patient with her new sister, she even bounced back into the room for more when I was packing up to go. Toddlers always make for a lively and fun photoshoot and this one was no different. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph this family a few times before and it was wonderful to return to meet their gorgeous new arrival.
We started the session with lots of toddler hair styling (she likes to have as many clips in her hair as possible) whilst Mum got ready and looked after baby and finished playing with an amazing large cardboard box house that Daddy had made her.

A perfect newborn baby captured at a photography session at his home just a few days old.
Newborn Photography Session
The opportunity to photograph a newborn is truly a privilege. Capturing those first precious moments from the joy on the faces of the new parents to the little fingers and toes of the newborn. Newborn sessions ideally take place within the first two – three weeks. In these early days your baby is still very sleepy and it is easier to capture those beautiful curled up poses. I am very experienced at handling newborns and will gently position your baby. I have a lovely selection of soft handmade hats, nappy covers and pods which are specially made for my sessions for your little ones to snuggle in.
When to book?
I recommend booking your newborn session as far in advance as possible (usually just after your 20 week scan) and because your baby’s birth date is unpredictable, a time frame will be reserved for you around your due date with arrangements made as soon as possible after the birth of your baby(s). Your newborn session will last between 3 – 4 hours to allow plenty of time soothe / feed your baby and for me to capture a range of portraits that will include, family, parent & baby, newborn on his/her own and detailed shots such as hands & feet.
The First Year Package£435.00 (saving £90.00)
Three beautiful portrait sessions to record your child’s first year. This package can be spread out over the first year to capture all those incredible milestones.

Beautiful maternity portraits create a lasting memory of an incredible time in your life. During your session I will work with you to create timeless fine art maternity portraits that capture the beauty of your pregnancy. I will come to your home where you can relax and enjoy your private portrait session with the luxury of your own bath-robe to slip into and your own sofa to put your feet up on in-between portraits. Each session is tailored to suit your needs and can involve your partner and older children. Before your session I will provide some guidance for clothing and will be happy to talk through details with you over the phone. I will also bring a selection of fabrics to the shoot and will incorporate ideas which have been discussed before the session.
When to book?
As soon as possible after your 20 week scan. Sessions do tend to get booked quite far in advance especially weekends. Sessions are ideally scheduled for between 32 – 36 weeks when you will have a nice bump but still feel comfortable.
If you’re expecting twins you may want to schedule your maternity portrait session a little earlier to allow for early delivery times.
Can you provide hair and make-up?
We can provide a personal hair and make up service. Please enquire for costs.

Sharing in the joy and wonder of a newborns first days is a pure delight for me, I love capturing these sweet precious moments and the little details which I know will be treasured.
Such as baby gripping onto Mums finger, the first family portrait and in this instance getting a tight hold of Mums necklace too. Just perfect little memories to freeze in time of an all too fleeting a moment in yours and your little ones life.
