I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed returning to photograph the second pregnancy and newborn portraits for this lovely family.
We first met 4 years ago when they asked me to capture their first born and just look what a gorgeous 4 year old he has grown into! He was a complete joy to photograph and as you can see from these pictures he was so very proud of his new baby sister.
I have many favourites from this portrait session that it was hard to choose which ones to share on my blog. Which is why I have included a large selection to give a feel for both photoshoots. I love capturing bump to baby portraits. These beautiful & precious moments are wonderful to freeze in time. Building lasting relationships with my Clients and returning to photograph their family as they grow is an honour. I am so grateful to be a small part of their journey as a family.

It was wonderful to capture these precious moments during the first year for this beautiful family at their home in Chelsea. From pregnancy to newborn to 6 months and finally to celebrate their son turning one!
The first year is full of incredible milestones. This little one was the third to enter the family and as Mum hadn’t captured her previous pregnancies she didn’t want to miss the opportunity to capture this one. It was wonderful to include her two first born in the session. This beautiful hands on the bump shot is one of my favourites. They were so sweet and so excited about their new baby brother, I think this captures that feeling perfectly.
Creating a black & white family gallery of the first year is such a joy to do. I love how the images flow seamlessly together and show each beautiful change. I loved watching this little one grow and getting to know the family over the year. Each time I returned I was welcomed so warmly into their home and I’m thrilled that they are happy with the results.

Newborn photographer Putney SW15
Another beautiful newborn photography session in Putney. I’m getting to know this area of London so well. It is a beautiful part of London which seems perfect for young families.
I have also found that there is a great network of local mums and chats on the brilliant NappyValley.net
We are so lucky to have all these wonderful resources at our finger tips. I often think of my Mum and how much she would have loved the support that is available to parents now. Sometimes parenting can be quite isolating particularly if you are new in the city. Websites such as MumsNet & NappeyValley provide contact with so many parents who can share their experiences and make you feel less alone.The range of advice is endless. I’ve used it for everything from activities for babies & toddlers to choosing a school to holiday tips!
All of my newborn photoshoots feel special. It’s a very fleeting and precious moment in time. entering the home of my Client’s just over a week after their baby has arrived and sharing in that joy with them is a great honours. I love to create a beautiful visual record of that time. One that will be treasured and shared for years to come.
This little darling was wonderful to photograph. I just love how she looks in my little mohair crochet bonnet. She seemed to smile in every picture! A very content and dreamy little baby.
Before each set up I carefully prepare the studio. I use warm soft fabrics for newborns and make sure the room temperature at my Client’s home is suitable before removing he babies clothes. Before each session I send a list of tips and advice to help the new parents prepare for their photoshoot.

A few of my favourites from a gorgeous pregnancy photoshoot with this beautiful mother to be.
I remember so well how this stage of pregnancy felt. After weeks and weeks of watching each changing stage of your little one, reading, learning, preparing the moment is finally almost here. It’s incredible, daunting, exciting and without a doubt the biggest emotional roller coaster of your life. Pregnancy for me was also one of the most empowering times of my life. I felt proud of my changing body and the life growing inside it. It is wonderful to be able to capture capture that moment in time for my Clients.
I would recommend between 34-36 weeks as the ideal time for your pregnancy photography session. I work exclusively in your home with my portable studio. I have Client’s based all over London, Kent & Surrey. I would be very happy to discuss your requirements, simply contact me via my bookings page.

I love including older sibling shots during my family photography sessions. This was taken during a newborn photography session. As we waited for his new baby sister to feed I gave this beaming new big brother his own personal photoshoot. He absolutely loved it! It’s a great way to make them feel the centre of attention when there is so much focus on the new arrival. I like to prepare them for their sibling portraits by spending some time having fun with them. Capturing beautiful & natural portraits.
Photographing older children is such a joy. I love capturing their expressions and chatting to them about what they like and don’t like. I have a 7 year old and a nearly 3 year old and it’s great to see what other children are into.
I’m often wondering where the time has gone, my little ones are growing up so fast. I want to capture every expression and change in them. Childhood is so fleeting and so very precious.
The smile in this picture says it all and his gorgeous sparkling eyes! Definitely one to treasure and a beautiful memory of how proud he was to become a big brother!

I’m sharing just the one picture today from a gorgeous newborn photography session in London. This little one was just so curious and didn’t want to miss a moment of her first photoshoot. Looking absolutely adorable in this portrait, it is lovely to capture wide awake shots at this stage. Her little folded arms and bright eyes make this picture come to life.
I love that this will become a treasured memory of her at this stage. I’ve really enjoyed returning to so many of my Clients homes this month to meet their new arrivals or photograph their little ones next stage. It’s such a joy to see so many of my pictures lovingly displayed on their walls. All looking absolutely beautiful even years on from our first session.
This one certainly needs to be in a frame!
